They even had Shetland ponies at the picnic! Dad said it is nature's only known case where an animal eating a plant results in a global net loss in IQ, but whatever...the pony was very pat-able.
This is Sandy and her aunt, Beth Ann signing "horse" at the neighborhood picnic. Dad says Beth Ann's one of those "Heather has two mommies types." I don't know what he means by that, but he seems to think it's pretty cool.
Sept. 17th: Just a few days ago we had the Vantage Drive neighborhood picnic up at the park. Not that you would know from this picture, but there were tons of people there. This is Sandy and I sharing.
Sometimes I have my girlfriend, Sandy, over to hang out. She normally makes this face when I walk in the door, but in this case it's the cat that's getting her jazzed up.
September 2nd: Uncle Tom's mom got me this cool dragon costume. Mom and Dad were sure it wouldn't fit until I was three, but here I am, eighteen months old and filling it out.
I have lots of fun with Mom. Here she is trying to run me down just out of the bathtub. If you're wondering how I snuck outside, maybe you should be worrying about how I got my shoes ("zoosh") on so quickly.
September 12th: One day the fill-in babysitter didn't show up so Dad called a "hooky day," whatever that is. We went for a fifteen mile bike ride down to Mt. Vernon. The second-greatest president lived there, Dad said. That was in between desperate gasps of air.
August 21: The parents of my friend David have bought a new house out by us. They've got this really cool room with no furniture...David says they're going to keep it that way. Oh, his parents laughed at that! They have a good sense of humor.
Sometimes Dad gets pretty brave when Mom's out of town. One Saturday he took me too the National Zoo. I didn't know the sign for elephant then, but if you ask me the next time we see each other, it'll be super-cute.
My cuz Brenden came out to visit once. We had fun in the pool too. I've been working on my snorkeling certification and hope to be open-water certified by next season!
