So it's been a while since I updated my weblog. Unless you've got a check in the mail, this service is free. So sue me.

The past few weeks have been a lot of fun. First, Grandma Judy came into town to watch me as Mom started back at work. Mom wasn't too happy about leaving me, but Mema and I had fun during the days. We all went to the Mt. Vernon Jazz and Wine Festival. Or maybe it was the Wine and Jazz Festival, I can't remember. I do know which one was the top priority of my "caretakers". I got to meet George Washington, but he wouldn't hold me! Mema, well into a second glass of Virginia merlot, called him something unsuitable for printing in a family weblog.

Last weekend my other grandma came into town to take over for Mema. It's tough keeping all these people straight, but they seem to take really good care of me. I only roll off couches and stuff when Mom and Dad are around anyway, so maybe I'm safer with the grands after all.

Grandma Rowson and I have had a lot of fun going on long walks around my neighborhood. The cicadas make a lot of noise but kind of make me sleepy. The other night Mom, Dad, Grandma and I met Tom and Christina at Generous George's for pizza. I slept through the whole ordeal, but they tell me we had to head into the basement because there were reports of tornadoes in the area. That didn't dampen the party too much, though.

Next Monday I get to finally meet my Aunt Amy, who's coming into town to watch me that week. I think she's anticipating a week of relaxation and catching up on her reading. Whew, is she in for a surprise. People watching me have been lucky to get out of their pajamas by afternoon...it's no secret, I like a lot of attention. Again, sue me.

I went on my very first road trip last week, heading down to Duck, NC for my Aunt Danielle and Uncle Joel's wedding. It was nice and all, but they didn't even let me carry the ring down the aisle. I was just supposed to sit there and look pretty, not unlike Sandra ullock. We stayed at this really cool house on the beach. Mom got sunburned one day but I was unscathed...otherwise Dad might have totally blown his lid. As it was he just made unsavory comments about skin cancer and raising me by himself. Nice.

I've been practicing my smile, which everyone thinks is so cute. This may prove useful to me down the road...

Yesterday, on the way home from North Carolina, Dad made us stop at Williamsburg hoping I'd soak up some his interest in history. We never made it inside, but Mom and Dad had a nice couple of smoothies and we ate outside. Summertime, and the livin's easy, I guess. Tonight Dad made a nice cod recipe, serving it over a bed of sauteed artichoke bottoms, asparagus, and of course, crumbled bacon. A little couscous tied it all together. Mom and Dad thought it was pretty good, but by the time it got to me I could tell a sprinkle of parsley or basil might have rounded it out nicely. If anyone wants the recipe, I can see if I can sneak it out of Dad's recipe box. Ciao!
